Let clients see when you're on the way
The On my way text links to the client's visit page. Until your crew arrives, it shows the truck on a map, the arrival time and the last update.
When your crew taps On my way and sends the text, Quoti adds a link to the client's visit page. Until the crew arrives, that page shows the truck on a map, when to expect you, and when the truck's location was last updated.
What the client sees
The visit page shows where the visit is at: Scheduled, On the way, Arrived and Done. Between On my way and I've arrived, it also shows: - a map with the truck and the client's house; - "Arriving around" and a time, worked out from the drive time when the crew left; - "Truck location updated at" and a time.
The map goes away when the crew taps I've arrived. The page also shows Your crew, the services under What we're doing, and a Text us button.
How the location is shared
The crew's phone saves the truck's position when they tap On my way, I've arrived or complete the visit. It also saves it every minute while the visit is on the way or on site and open in Quoti.
Good to know: - The location only updates while Quoti is open on the crew's phone. After Send text & start driving opens Google Maps, the truck usually stays where the crew tapped On my way until they come back to Quoti. The page always says when it was last updated. - The arrival time isn't recalculated on the road. Use Running late? if you'll be later. - The visit needs a crew, and the phone must allow Quoti to use its location.
What the crew sees
The first time, the visit screen shows Quoti shares the truck's location: "While you're on shift, your team's admins see where the truck is, only while Quoti is open. Your client sees it only between On my way and I've arrived."
Tap Got it to keep sharing, or Turn off. After that, a small banner on the visit says who can see the truck, for example "Your admins and your client can see the truck", with Turn off or Turn on.
See your trucks
On the Schedule tab, tap Crews to see all your trucks today on a map, with each crew's status. Workers and limited workers don't see this view.
Tips
- Make sure the client has a mobile number. With no number, no On my way text goes out, so there's no link.
- If the crew stops on the way, opening the visit in Quoti updates the truck's position for the client.
